World Boss Timers

Hi!

World boss timers are just about the most frequent request I get, and I can see why. It's an extremely convenient thing to have the next event show up in-game.
I added two timeline tracks to the map timer: a world boss and a hardcore world boss track. I also upgraded the map timer window a bit so it doesn't get out of hand size-wise. Now you can enable compact mode that removes the titles of the timeline tracks, effectively cutting the required space in half, and if that's not enough, now you can toggle timeline tracks on and off individually.

The result can look something like this:

As this is only a simple expansion of the map timer window, it doesn't have support for waypoint links yet. I still need to figure out the best way to do that, but for now this is a step in the right direction.

You can download the new build from here.

Change notes

  • Added an option to make the map timer window compact
  • Added toggle options to individual map timer timeline tracks
  • Added world boss and hardcore world boss timeline tracks
  • Fixed a bug where all timed markers would auto-trigger, ignoring the auto-trigger setting
  • Markers with displayed countdowns will now always auto-trigger

  1. Is it possible to add a trail (same one as SAB) for completing maps? There was a image somewhere (I don't recall) with a drawing on each map that indicated the fastest way it could be completed. Woul help alot on Tyria World Completion.

  2. Do you mean this? http://darkronins.shivtr.com/forum_threads/1456052/

Implementing that would take awhile, as you probably know the markers has to be manually set. Personally I'd think it's more work than it's worth. I do have 2 screens though...

    1. Actually the new marker trail system could be expanded to store per-map per-character progression I think. (Gotta look into the per-character part) So this COULD be done, but yeah someone has to go through the maps and place all the markers.
Anyone feel like doing yet another world completion? :D

    2. Doing it as we speak... Killin me X_X
Even if the path isnt traced, just knowing where that last pesky little PoI is would be a great help.

    4. I actually host a world completion event, each week we do a different map.

If I was to drop markers, how close would they need to be?

    5. I'll look into this, but currently don't have the time to do a whole world completion.

  3. Can you please mirror to another server, such as google drive. Dropbox is super slow.

  4. @BoyC When we update version, is there a way to merge the two versions on our desktop so that we don't have to redo all our settings?

    1. Just extract into the old folder and overwrite with the contents of the archive. The archive doesn't include the files containing your personal preferences and markers so this way your config won't be lost.

  5. Could you add Slothasor warning timers? Mushroom spawns every 0:50 starting at 7:00, 6:10, etc. And volatile poison occurs every 25 seconds starting at 6:35, 6:10, 5:45, etc.

    1. No, because the overlay has no way of knowing when the fight starts as it's initiated by a single player.

    2. Could you add a button to press when the fight starts? We only have 1-2 callers during any raid fight... A timer like that would help immensely :)

  6. How about a range circle for 360? It's the common distance used that's not already in TACO

  7. Got banned using this tool 2 days ago... Only used that and gw2pao, got banned for third party program, nothing else was running on the computer except my browser. I believe i've the right to say it. Seems anet banned a lot of people some weeks ago also. Use at your own risk.

    1. Several people have been banned lately for "using third party tools" even without doing so. Something is off with the way ANet are checking some things. One example was a guy using teleport to friend to speed through world complete on some maps, and it got flagged as third party software use because "you can only complete a map that fast by cheating".
